On 18 January, 70 Chinese university students from Humanitarian Affairs Asia Group, led by Ms. Janice Leong, came to conduct cultural activities with our children to celebrate the Chinese New Year and which emphasize universal values such as family, prosperity and hope. Activities included Traditional Paper Cutting Art (such as the Chinese character “Fu” for good fortune); Paper Folding (Origami), like a Chinese fan or a fish; Chinese Calligraphy using brushes and ink to create auspicious phrases; Traditional Folk Dance Workshops; and Traditional Chinese Games. Following lunch together, the Chinese students and our children joined in distributing Survival Bags to 20 bed-ridden people in the community. Thank you for introducing interesting new skills to our children through creative and enjoyable activities.
