Constructive Constabulary

Our annual co-operation with the Royal Police Cadet Academy opened on 1 September, when we welcomed 15 police cadets to the Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF). To begin their understanding of the hardships and challenges poor children face, the cadets were briefed about the DPF’s history, mission and community development work by Khru Prateep and Ms. Penwadee (DPF manager). They are now spending two weeks at our New Life Project (NLPK) in Kanchanaburi until 14 September to learn about the lives of the troubled children there, and to join in with them in performing daily chores. On the first day, the cadets listened to presentations by representatives from Muang Kanchanaburi Police Station and the Chief Executive of Baankao Subdistrict Administrative Organization on their organization’s roles, activities and services for the people. They also visited the Baan Kao school where our NLPK children study. The visit provided the cadets with valuable experience in children’s problems, community-based development, social work and collaborative efforts to create positive and sustainable change in society.
