Buddhist Lent Observed with Candles

On 8th July, Khru Prateep, DPF teachers, kindergarten students, elderly citizens, parents and guardians joined the annual candle procession ceremony to mark the beginning of the Buddhist Rains Retreat (in lieu of 11st July). The ceremony started with participants setting up the procession prior to marching around the community. Four child representatives wearing traditional Thai costumes sat on the parade float, as all participants walked along with the procession. Upon returning to the DPF Kindergarten, nine monks conducted the religious ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all had lunch with food brought along by the participants.
