Update: Care-Givers for the Elderly in Japan

On September 4-5, Ms. Washizu Mio (Vice-Governor, Fukui Prefectural Government) led a team of Fukui Prefecture officials to Thailand for the purpose of signing an MOU between Fukui Prefecture and Kanchanaburi Province on the “Care-Giver for the Elderly Project” in Japan. During their stay, they went to meet Mr. Tatsushi Nishioka (Minister of Embassy of Japan), and also took the next 10 students bound for Japan to meet Privy Councilor, Mr. Paiboon Kumchaya. The Japanese officials also visited two schools in Kanchanaburi province which have had good recruitment of students for this project. The DPF started the care-givers project 4 years ago in partnership with Fukui, and to date 34 young Thais have gone for gainful employment in Japan.
