November 10, was an informative day when staff from Save the Children (Thailand) came to the DPF to give knowledge and build understanding on “SOGIESC – Understanding LGBTIQ+” for parents/guardians of our sponsored students. Background and statistics related to children and youths who identify as various genders were presented. The parents/guardians were divided into 5 groups to rotate to share 5 topics: information on LGBTIQ+, understanding gender identity and sexual expression, understanding attraction (sexual & emotional), positive parenting and communication with children.
