Remembering the Tsunami Tragedy

On December 15, Khru Prateep and Dr. Tatsuya Hata led DPF staff and Klong Toey youths who participated in the “Run To Remember,” a fun charitable run organized by Mr. Peter Baines to remember the 20-year anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami. Peter is president of the Hands Across the Water organization (HATW), and he aims to raise $1 million. He kicked off this fund-raising event at the four children’s homes that HATW supports in Thailand, running from Yasothorn Province to Baan Tharn Namchai Foundation in Phang-nga province, a distance of 1,400 kilometers. Prominent participants Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt (Bangkok Governor), Dr. Angela Macdonald (Australian Ambassador to Thailand) and a representative from the Tourism Authority added prestige to the event.
