Researcher Returns

On 19 June, we were pleased welcome Mr. Douglas Lucius (“Sam” – a City Planner from United States) on a return visit to the foundation. Way back in 1996, he first came to the DPF to conduct research entitled “An Economic, Social and Environmental Study of Talat Khlong Toey” (“talat” is the Thai word for “market”). Over the following 30 years, whenever he was in Thailand, he never failed to pay a courtesy visit to the DPF to meet Khru Prateep and staff to let us know about his life and social situation. Sam also generously made a financial donation, which will be used for the installation of new electrical wiring in old community houses that have a high-level risk of causing a fire. We always enjoy catching up with Sam to follow his life’s journey, and greatly appreciate his ongoing support for our work.
