On 10 October, 23 journalists from Southeast Asian countries visited the Klong Toey area to study the problems and impacts faced by community people in the extreme heat of summer. They were welcomed to the DPF by Khru Prateep, who briefed the visitors about the housing conditions and lifestyles of the slum residents. Then followed a walking inspection of the housing and surrounding environment, where they found that many families live under hot zinc roofs in small and closely packed houses, with no air-conditioners. A big thank-you to the journalists for taking an interest in the living conditions of poor people in Klong Toey and writing stories for the better understanding of the wider public.
