In line with the 2025 World Habitat Day theme of “Urban Crisis Response”, more than 5,000 people from 11 communities (under The Housing Network) marched from Bangkok City Hall to the Government Offices on October 6 to submit demands for housing fairness. Residents of Klong Toey community called for the Port Authority’s redevelopment plans to allocate 20% of the land for the building of sustainable housing for low-income families. Representatives from the Poor People’s Movement for Land & Housing Rights also held separate negotiations with key government bodies, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
