On 11 September, Khru Prateep took Mr. Misao Higashikado (former Japanese Member of Parliament for Fukui Prefecture and President of the Maruoka Rotary Club) to meet Privy Councilor, General Paiboon Khumchaya, at his office. Mr. Higashikado, who was in Thailand to meet the four Thai high school students whom the Maruoka Rotary Club are hosting on a cultural exchange visit in October, expressed his appreciation to General Paiboon for his continuing support for the Care-Givers for the Elderly Project. Project director, Khun Ladaphan, reported on its progress and the plans for the 4 students’ trip to Japan. General Paiboon, in turn, congratulated all involved on the success of the project, which can build good employment opportunities and good income for the poor students, while they can also learn the Japanese language as a skill to support themselves in the future.
